How would you say that a couple "broke up" in Irish? And how would you say "they got back together"?

scar siad le chéile (from memory)
or maybe "scar siad ó chéile"

Thanks for that, Lughaidh. I looked up scar on the Pota Focal website, and found some examples of "scaradh lena chéile" and "scaradh óna chéile." So maybe the article is needed? Anyway, you put me on the right track.

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

I don't know if there is a specific term, but maybe -

Tá said ar ais le chéile.
Tá siad cairdiúil lena chéile aríst.
Tá siad ag siúil amach le chéile aríst.

My "specialty" is Connemara Irish, particularly Cois Fhairrge dialect, but I can also speak Ulster and Munster Irish with native-level pronunciation.
Is fearr Gaeilge ḃriste ná Béarla cliste, cinnte, aċ i ḃfad níos fearr aríst í Gaeilge ḃinn ḃeo na nGaeltaċtaí.
Gaeilge Chonnacht (GC), go háraid Gaeilge Chois Fhairrge (GCF), Gaeilic Uladh (GU), Gaelainn na Mumhan (GM), agus Gaeilge an Chaighdeáin Oifigiúil (CO).
