Are there any Irish language computer games out there?

Not that I'm aware of swisscheese. Although I was thinking that a text adventure from somebody with great Irish would be pretty cool.

Anybody who has never played a text adventure, they're like interactive books. A good one in English can be found here:

There'll probably be a few free games that have been translated, eg Freeciv

Some of the language learning programs have games (I used to have one, but can't remember what it was, unfortunately).

The Collins Dictionary app for iPhone and Android has some games on it as well, but they're word games: Hangman, Word Scramble, and Anagrams.

I believe Talk Irish has Irish crossword puzzles if you're into crosswords.

It might be good to have a place for game links. People are bound to come across more....

Wombat was working on an adventure game in Irish, and even developed a snazzy new graphics engine for it. Then I ran out of money for chocolate chip cookies and had to take on paying gigs. And then I did my MSc. And now I'm working on my PhD while holding down a full-time job. So, yeah, the game is sort of on hold. I still want to do a game very much, and I have an idea in mind for a web-based game (which will be easier to provide support for).

Actually, I suspect that a lot of the stuff that's been translated to Scottish Gaelic is probably available in Irish too, because I believe a couple of the guys that translate to one or other of the languages know each other and suggest projects.
