For some reason, there are parts of the English text that are missing in the Irish translation, I wonder why. But if you don't know well the English text, it's possible that you won't notice.

Do you happen to know the dialect of the translation?

The dialect of the recent translation is... no dialect, it's desperately standard but with Munster vocabulary, I'd say. I think it has been standardised, I guess the first translation (pre-standard) was Munster Irish. But we'd need to see it to be sure.

The pre-standard translation is in Déise Irish, just checked in the National Library today. Wonderfully written as well.

Too bad they standardised it... that's stupid. Why do they do that? Do they think people are too stupid to understand other dialects?
