I'm gonna try to work my way through "Séadna" first, then if all goes well, I'll be giving "Mo Scéal Féin" a try.

But there are lots of resources for "Séadna" and we have also just started a "Séadna" study group, so I'll forge ahead with "Séadna" and I'm pretty sure it will be alright * crosses fingers *

Yes, if you get stuck on Séadna, you can always put it on hold and try Mo Sgéal Féin instead.

Or if enough people are finding Séadna hard, they can start a separate study group thread for Mo Sgéal Féin concurrently.

I think I saw mention of a good translation of Séadna also being available if you do get stuck, but it would be fun to try to translate it yourselves for practice.

The text is on the video, so if anyone wants to take a shot at correcting my pronunciation then have it. Like I said, any help is appreciated, and it'd be interesting to see somone else try this as well.

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.

Seo mo cheannsa,Thá súil agam go ndéanfaidh sé an gnó is go mbeidh sé ar chomhchaighdeán libhse. The dialect is a mixture of Ring and Cork Irish. The pronounciation of "tháinig" is Cork, whereas, Inse and dh' inseadar are Ring.

The Niamh version we have read from has been slightly standardised, for instance the dative that would have been very prevalent in the original has been standardised. However, it hasn't been completely messed with either for instance its dh' inseadar instead of insíodar, reflecting the native pronounciation. Its a very good modern transcribe of the original.
