Maigh Eo abú! Tá sé sin ar eolas agam. Nuair a bhíonn tú ag féáchaint ar an gcluiche agus ag iarraidh 'C'mon Maigh Eo' or even 'C'mon Dún na nGall', what is the equivalent i nGaeilge? I'm looking for 'shouting at the tv' sort phrases! Although I'm thinking that the Maigh Eo players aren't listening......

Try A Thír Conaill déan trócaire orainn - I think they were saying something like that at mass this morning. :twisted:

Cad chuige a mbeifá ag iarraidh tacaíocht a thabhairt do Mhaigh Eo? :rolleyes: Nach leath-Chonallach anois tú i ndiaidh duit coicís a chaitheamh i nGaoth Dobhair/ Rinn na Feirste?

I think the Connemara way would be Maigh eo, go deo !, although I've heard the dialect in Mayo is a mixture of Connacht and Ulster forms.

My "specialty" is Connemara Irish, particularly Cois Fhairrge dialect, but I can also speak Ulster and Munster Irish with native-level pronunciation.
Is fearr Gaeilge ḃriste ná Béarla cliste, cinnte, aċ i ḃfad níos fearr aríst í Gaeilge ḃinn ḃeo na nGaeltaċtaí.
Gaeilge Chonnacht (GC), go háraid Gaeilge Chois Fhairrge (GCF), Gaeilic Uladh (GU), Gaelainn na Mumhan (GM), agus Gaeilge an Chaighdeáin Oifigiúil (CO).

I thought '..... abú' was a nationwide expression, but I generally don't have a clue about such matters so don't trust me! :mrgreen:
