Has anyone out there ever researched what the most commonly spoken words and phrases in Irish are? If not, perhaps we might come up with our own unofficial list here (yes, this is for another article).

I'd say that "agus" and its variation "is" would have to be right up there.

According to potafocal, 'agus' is the fifth most commonly used word and occurs once in every forty words. (See bottom of page below.)
