You may have me there. I'll dig tomorrow and see what I find. It'll probably turn out to be a few features - which would be enough to freak me out! I have been caught like that before, thinking I'd found a resource for Donegal Irish and it wasn't the real McCoy at all.

Are you saying that someone brought up in Dublin perhaps generation after generation through Irish cannot be considered a native speaker?

I meant: I'm not sure Gaeltacht people bring their children up with Irish when they live outside the Gaeltacht. Because in the Gaeltacht it's kinda natural to speak Irish (you won't look strange if you do). But in the Galltacht, it's not (I mean, to many people). Maybe certain Gaeltacht people don't want to look "strange" speaking Irish when they aren't in the Gaeltacht. I noticed that in the university too.
