Tá tuairim is trí mhilliún is fiche albam (23 million albums) díolta ag Lady Gaga ar fud an domhain go dtí seo, chomh maith le ceithre mhilliún is seasca singil (64 million singles).

Sorry to arrive at this thread late, but I was wondering how to distinguish "twenty-three million albums" (23,000,000 albums) from "three million and twenty albums" (3,000,020) traditionally (i.e., without the cop-out of reverting to counting numbers), then Lughaidh's response may have given me the answer. (I think  )

23,000,000 albums - trí mhilliún is fiche albam

3,000,020 albums - trí mhilliún albam is fiche

That is, for 23 million the fiche comes after milliún but before albam.

Here are some more examples:

23,023,023 albums - trí mhilliún is fiche, trí mhíle is fiche, trí albam is fiche
23,323,323 albums - trí mhilliún is fiche, trí chéad is trí mhíle is fiche, trí chéad is trí albam is fiche

Anyone able to confirm or correct that?

Of course, above about 11,000, the counting numbers look very inviting by comparison. :bolt:

and
seasca a ceathair milliún singil

...and the 'is' is understood between the 'seasca' and the 'ceathair'...
