My "specialty" is Connemara Irish, particularly Cois Fhairrge dialect, but I can also speak Ulster and Munster Irish with native-level pronunciation.

Gaeilge Chonnacht (GC), go háraid Gaeilge Chois Fhairrge (GCF), Gaeilic Uladh (GU), Gaelainn na Mumhan (GM), agus Gaeilge an Chaighdeáin Oifigiúil (CO).

This same article showed up on my Facebook page today. Music could certainly be a catalyst for this. There are scores of Irish speakers outside Ireland (and inside, I would think) who started learning the language through a love for traditional as well as more contemporary Irish musicians such as Clannad. I can definitely see the language becoming more "cool" if the "cool" bands started using it (correctly, of course).
